U-N-I in the Hot Seat

This week mtvU puts U-N-I in the hot seat. Previous artists from the town include Blue Scholars and Amber Pacific. Click here to read the full interview.

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
Thurz: My craziest tour experience would have to be in Seattle. We just got through rockin' at Chop Suey (shout outs to Laced Up and DJ Hyphen and J Moore of KUBE 93). We were approached by four different groups of girls that all wanted to take us out and chill. A few of the girls started arguing over us and trying to force us to make a decision.

Y-O: My craziest tour experience has to be in Miami. The fans showed us love-the women were gorgeous and there were a series of hilarious events. To name a few: Thurz falling off his scooter... ahahahaha, and our manager Chris London getting bird shit on his head at the beach.

Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?

Thurz: I think L.A. is the best place to be, but New York has to be the best place to visit. The folks out there are real cool and show us a lotta love. It took me a minute to get used to the subway system, but that's the only place you can get drunk and not have to worry about driving home or waiting on a taxi, or paying five dollars for a gallon of gas!

Y-O: The most fun city to visit for me has to be my hometown, Seattle, WA. A lot of my family is out there, so to go back and visit is always a refreshing experience. Family is the core to Y-O.

MTVu - Ahead of the Curve: Blue Scholars & Grayskul

Seattle's Blue Scholars and Grayskul at SXSW. You'll notice in the Grayskul clip that they be nicely fitted in the Goods cap and I see some Dope Style action as well. Can't forget about Geo rockin one of the early Blue Scholars t-shirts if not one of the very first! Thanks to Mr. Hill on the heads up on these clips! Seatown gets down!

An intimate look at some of musics rising stars. Unprocessed and unrehearsed, these artists showcase their skills off-the-cuff.
