DJ Scene Moving to the Bay

Scene is on his way outta Seattle onto greater opportunities. Though, he states he'll be back in the town from time to time. For now, he'll be packin up his utensils and making his kitchen in Frisco. Click here on an old Stranger article that highlights Scene's history from his start to where he's at currently. Below is straight from Scene's website.

Nov 1, 2007

What's up everyone! I've had a lot of people ask me lately if I'm moving. Yes, the rumors are true. I'm moving to San Francisco Nov. 18th! I still love my home town of Seattle WA and will be back as often as possible, but I felt it was time to change my home base. I'm no longer on the air with KUBE 93 (Clear Channel Seattle) but I will continue to do my national mixshows on XM Radio 67 'The City'

On another note, people have been asking when they can download the "Go Sailing remix". If you click on 'audio/video'... Go Sailing is right there and ready for free download. It's also posted on Myspace.com/djscene if you want to ADD the song to your profile, or you just want to add another friend.

Thanks to everyone that checks the site regularly for new downloads and updates. Feel free to grab any remixes and mashup you'd like, free of charge

for bookings please contact scott@cityvisions.net

Seattle Chief Rockers

There's a new DJ Collective in the town. Some of the names are familiar and they've come together like Voltron. Click here to check out the Seattle Chief Rockers website!

It’s not where your from but where your at fam… We are Seattle based DJs that have come together to form a DJ Collective with a shared interest in music and rockin’ parties and clubs through out the Pacific Northwest. We aren’t in this game as a passing fad and many of us have 15+ years behind our belts in the DJ & music game. Our focus is to continue to promote and represent the city that we live in and to keep our prosperous and sometimes strugglin’ music scene moving forward. We work with promoters, clubs and bars in Seattle that we respect and that support our art form as deejays. Stay Tuned Indeed.

Follow Through With Jake One

Got to this article via RaindropHustla. Thanks for the assist. Jake One currently the featured read under DJ's & Producers on AllHipHop. Click here for the full house.

AllHipHop.com: Well at least you’re an educated dude. You’ve got a Sociology degree from the University of Washington, and as you said worked a 9 to 5 as a file clerk in a courthouse. Have you been able to apply that education to the game and working within the industry?

Jake One: You know, I don’t think anything particular I learned in college has really helped me as far as that. More than anything it’s just being disciplined and following through on things and being on top of whatever it is. Whether that’s sending somebody beats in a timely fashion, or showing up somewhere on time, or just being reliable and being somebody of your word. I think going through education on some levels gives you more structure in your life. Some people have issues with that and it costs them gigs, so I would say that part of it has been real good.
