Jake One "White Van Music" Album Release Party @ The War Room TONIGHT

White Van Music is just hours away from droppin in stores! The release party is tonight and there's also a nice article on Mr. Dutton himself in the Seattle Times. Click here to read the article.

Dutton is more of a freelancer for G-Unit rather than a staffer, but he did receive a spinner watch from the G-Unit family for Christmas.

D-Black - The Come Up f/ Skyzoo MP3

Once I spotted this on several other blogs, I thought, whoa, D. Black on a track with Skyzoo? I then find out it's another D-Black out east. Makes you wonder though, the D. Black from Sportn' Life perhaps would be able to rip over the Illmind beat just as well with his voice?

D. Black Releases Unreleased Music

D. Black of Sportn' Life Records releases a string of unreleased tracks that are now released. What's that all mean? Some music that won't officialy be released on record, rather for your listening pleasure as we all await his upcoming album. Spotted on 206 Proof

While preparing for the release of D.Black’s sophomore CD “Rejuvenation” which is slated for a late 2008 release date, we decided to clean house to make some room on the hard drive. Here are nine songs that are NOT on any upcoming project. This is simply us leaking some unheard material that will probably never be released. These songs didn’t really fit the direction the new CD has taken, but they are good songs none the less, with some great features and dope production. We hope you enjoy.

Framework Interview @ Seaspot

Today was quite eventful. Got home hours ago from the Pop Conference at the EMP|SFM. Saw a few heads from the past. Good seein both Kitty and Sam there. I left the conference one panel early to catch some dinner just off Lake City Way. Kona Kitchen has been buzzin in the air for me for a quick minute and I was able to finally experience it. Kona Kitchen receives the BiW stamp of approval for their fine Hawaiian cuisine. Think Ohana in Belltown, but with ample street parking along with a lot on the side of the building and behind the restaraunt.

Now, back to the subject of this entry. I opened up my email and saw that Seaspot had an interview with Framework who recently performed at Neumos alongside D. Black for the Bun B show. Click here for the full read. Also, Framework has not only got a MySpace page, but a website located here!

Seattle Slim: In an article on you by The Stranger, they described your past with the justice system. That was 2005. How have things changed for you?

Framework: I've grown a whole bunch man, as far as my craft and my life period. A lot of things done happened that done made me grow, you know what I'm sayin'? My son got shot three, four months ago.

Seattle Slim: Oh no! I'm sorry.

Framework: He almost died over somebody trying to take something from him, see what I'm saying?

Seattle Slim: Oh my God!

Framework: A lot has changed, but at the same time, a lot hasn't changed. Dealing with my daily activities and my longevity with this music, haven't changed see what I'm sayin'? I'm further than I was as far as my buzz and my fan base. I'm a little bit further, but it's time to get Seattle out there, man. But I've grown a whole lot. When they interviewed me, I bailed out and I'm still out on that same bail from three years ago. That's one of the reasons I'm going specifically hard with this music. I used to deal with the struggle all kinds of negative ways back then you know what I'm sayin'? But I'm dealing with it in all kinds of positive ways.

Bun B @ Neumos TONIGHT

Soul Gorilla presents Bun B tonight at Neumos along with sponsor, Jeepney Clothing. This stop in Seattle is all a part of Zune being On The Road with Bun B as he tours the country. Tonight should be jumpin if it's anything like the energy in the room the last time he was in town. That was just a few months back for the Zune Takeover 2 show with Swizz Beatz.

The Emerald City's flyest, Framework, and Sportn' Life artist, D. Black will be in the building performing live in the spot! Seatown's favorite, Dyme Def, will be hosting tonight's party and it's sure to crack! Pre-sale tickets are sold out! So, if you're tryin to cop a spot, be sure to get them tickets at TicketsWest.com or at the door. Word is that if you purchase them at the door, the price goes up 'cause you weren't earrly in gettin them tix. But if money ain't' a thang, press your luck and see if you get in when the doors open. Show starts at 8pm.

The afterparty moves to the Baltic Room. If you show your ticket stub there, you get in for a mere $5. The party is with Soul Gorilla and Goody Bag. I'ma take a guess and say that Bun B will be there as well.

D. Black on Seattlest

Click here for the full interview.

Who are you excited about in local hiphop these days?

All of it is pretty exciting, I think. I believe it's appropriate to say Blue Scholars have been putting in a lot of work; its been a great experience watching what moves they make. But there’s so much going on this year, a new Grynch album (which is amazing, BTW), the Cancer Rising EP, Tobacco Road (Common Market’s latest), Sharp Skills' new record and plenty more to look forward to. I’m excited for what this year will bring all together.
