Chop Suey SOLD to Japanese Company!

img src Eagle Rock Ventures, musicentropy

Homegirl Katelyn brought to attention of Chop Suey being sold (via MTK). Word is spreadin fast and from what I hear, a press release of the purchase is in the works, or at the least, should be! This is some big news and will be interesting to see how this all develops. Who could this unnamed Japanese company be? Hmm... Like I said, word is spreadin quickly.

Rock Paper Scissors Grand Opening

RPS Life has shutdown for a minute as they look to prepare for their grand opening. No longer are they on Olive Way. According to their MySpace, Saturday, June 7th is when they re-open up shop across the street from Chop Suey. What you see above are some New Era fitted's and from what I know, they'll have the red and black colorway in stock and for sale.

UPDATE: There'll be 30 of each colorway. spotted on Rock Paper Sneakers

Seattle DunkXchange

I've been seeing the flyer for the Seattle DunkXchange for the past week or so. Unfortunately, I noticed two things; one for a spelling error and there was no date for the event. So, I hit up TJ over at CPTL for the details and he sent over the final flyer on the left with all the necessary info and fixed spelling. Disregard the old flyer on the right. It all goes down next Saturday at Chop Suey between 1pm - 6pm. It's an all ages event and $10 gains you entrance to this showcase of kicks and entertainment from Jeru the Damaja and U-N-I.

Capitol 1524 Officially Change Name To Rock Paper Scissors

About a month ago we reported that Capitol 1524 changed their signage to Rock Paper Scissors (RPS Life). Today, they made the news official on their blog. From here on out, Capitol 1524 is now known as RPS. When you log onto capitol1524.com, it says to visit rpslife.com.

With that said, we'll be looking forward to when they move into their new digs come this summer around the Pike/Pine neighborhood of Capitol Hill. One other tidbit, the RPS New Era fitted's will initially come in five colorways around the time when RPS moves to their new space.

Capitol 1524 "Destroy & Rebuild" into Rock Paper Scissors (RPS Life)

img src: unformatted via flickr
The first images of the construction of a new storefront. Question is, where is this soon to be completed retail space located? Secondly, when is the grand opening? I'm gonna guess there's going to be some type of party with the launch of the doors opening and the official name change as the principals "destroy and rebuild." You make the connection and put two and two together. spotted on unformatted

Capitol 1524 now Rock Paper Scissors (RPS Life)?

Looks like the new group of owners who took over Capitol 1524 back in October of 2007 will be renaming the store Rock Paper Scissors. Only speculation, but a good guess based on the following. The current web address, rpslife.com, forwards to the stores blog. So, I'm pretty sure they'll be rebranding the store and name. Secondly, the application of the RPS logo went up on the windows. Can we look forward to some in-house designs with the RPS name on future products? I like the direction these heads are going in. via protoculture
