Termanology - Politics As Usual Album Cover Artwork
.jpg)
Check the press release below for all the details along with the tracklisting for Termanology's "Politics As Usual" album.
HIP HOP’S RISING STAR, TERMANOLOGY, READIES DEBUT ALBUM BOASTING A DREAM TEAM CAST OF PLATINUM PRODUCERS INCLUDING DJ PREMIER, ALCHEMIST, HAVOC, NOTTZ, BUCKWILD, LARGE PROFESSOR, PETE ROCK, HI-TEK, EASY MO BEE AND GUEST APPEARANCES FROM PRODIGY, BUN B, SHEEK LOUCH, FREEWAY, LIL FAME,
"POLITICS AS USUAL" WILL BE RELEASED SEPTEMBER 30th, 2008 ST RECORDS/NATURE SOUND RECORDS
What the industry is saying about Termanology:
"Term has a unique desire for the culture because he touches the issues that I can relate to as a TRUE HIP-HOP HEAD..his flows are nice, and he stays creative with his subject matter...he even speaks for me and not every new MC comin' up can do
that." - DJ Premier
"Termanology puts the MC back in MC'ing, he's a breath of fresh air in this dirty game." - Bun B
"Termanology shows he could be a leader of the new school" - The Source Magazine
New York, NY - Massachusetts-bred; New York-based rapper Termanology has now finished his official debut album Politics As Usual. One of this year's most anticipated albums; it drops September 30th, 2008 through a joint venture between Term’s own ST. Records and Indy powerhouse Nature Sounds. Termanology’s debut merges the best of both worlds for all Hip-Hop fans, as its meshes classic boom-bap production from a virtual who's who list of production royalty; DJ Premier, Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, The Alchemist, Havoc, Buckwild, Nottz and Large Professor all provide tracks, with Term’s lyricism, swagger and bravado.
Growing up in the streets of the post-industrial, predominantly Latino city of Lawrence, MA, the half-white, half-Puerto Rican MC transitioned from silly freestyles at age nine to full-fledged records by 15. Constantly traveling between Boston and New York to pursue his music business dream, Termanology released his first 12-inch in 2002. Through his alliance with influential mixtape DJ (and fellow Massachusetts native) Statik Selektah, Term began earning the respect of
Boston's Hip-Hop scene with several highly acclaimed 12" singles.
At the onset of 2006, Term caught his big break when legendary producer DJ Premier, whom he met three years earlier, finally blessed him with one of his signature, scratch-laden beats. "Watch How It Go Down" instantly became an underground classic and Termanology appeared on Hip-Hop's international radar. The conscious hood anthem garnered the earnest MC tons of praise, landing him in The Source's "Unsigned Hype" and XXL's "Show and Prove" columns.
Since then, Termanology has quickly climbed the industry ranks with his Hood Politics mixtape series and continued collaborations with DJ Premier and other big name producers. Term's hard work resulted in a joint venture deal with Brooklyn-based label Nature Sounds, which he signed in late 2007. "I decided to go the Indy
route to have total control of everything related to my project," Term explains.
Nature Sounds is quickly becoming the indy home for classic hip-hop. During the last couple of years the label has released projects by several artists that include hip hop cult icon MF DOOM, Wu-Tang's Masta Killa (Made In Brooklyn), the debut album from Havoc of Mobb Deep (The Kush), most recently, Pete Rock's latest (NY's Finest).
Term has already set things in motion for his debut, Politics As Usual, with the recent leak of the LP’s buzz-single, How We Rock,” which has the Internet buzzing and features Term rocking with two of Hip-Hop’s most beloved individuals, Bun B and DJ Premier (who produced “How We Rock”). Term has also shot a video for “How We Rock” and the video will be released to the masses shortly.

DJ Revolution - The DJ f/ KRS-One MP3

Growin up and listening to hip-hop, DJ Revolution was one of the first "dj's" who I respected based on the work he's put in and does for the culture for the DJ as a whole. I met Revolution back in '06 at The Power Summit in the Dominican Republic. Dude was a stand up guy and had some thoughts and concerns about the whole DJ game that I found quite interesting coming from a guy who bleeds this sh!t. So, it's nice to see that he'll be coming out with an album called King of the Decks. Check out the press release below and a few tracks from the upcoming album.DJ REVOLUTION “KING OF THE DECKS” ALBUM IN STORES SEPTEMBER 16th ON DUCK DOWN RECORDS
DJ REVOLUTION F/ KRS-ONE - THE DJ [CLICK HERE & DOWNLOAD]
FEATURING TRACKS FROM KRS-ONE, BISHOP LAMONT, CROOKED I, JOELL ORTIZ, SEAN PRICE, DJ QBERT, BOOT CAMP CLIK, JAZZY JEFF, EVIDENCE, GUILTY SIMPSON, ROYCE DA 5’9, SPECIAL TEAMZ, DEFARI, TERMANOLOGY, TASH, RAKAA IRISCIENCE, BUMPY KNUCKLES, BLAQ POET, STRONG ARM STEADY, PLANET ASIA, DJ PREMIER
DJ Revolution said it best in a recent interview, "the connection between the DJ and the emcee has been severed. ”King of The Decks" is my attempt at reconnecting it." DJ Revolution did just that with his new album, as he brought together some of the most talented names in Hip Hop today, who not only produce quality music, but also respect the craft of the DJ Culture.
DJ Revolution has spent 15 years perfecting that craft on the SP 1200. He's currently behind the wheels of the longest running Hip Hop show in the history of commercial radio, "THE WORLD FAMOUS WAKE UP SHOW alongside Sway & King Tech.
Aside from his weekly duties on the show based out of LA on Power 106, and syndicated Worldwide, he has lent his now infamous scratch techniques to countless records and his production skills to many established artists. REV has also taken his skillz to the far corners as the globe and ripped clubs in locations such as Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He has also shared the stage DJ’ing for many artists including legends like Rakim all the way to current superstars such as Kanye West. Revolution has released two of his own Full length LP’s (“In 12’s we trust/R2K”) and one with his partners Sway & Tech (“This or That”).
As DJ Revolution readies "KING OF THE DECKS," in stores on September 16th, he divulged further on the issues of the lack of communication between the MC and THE DJ stating that it "is one of the most obvious reasons Hip Hop has devolved so drastically over the years. Since MC's in general decided to toss aside the DJ as an asset and integral part of their success from production to performance, the music has suffered tremendously. My goal is to re-introduce to the world what a DJ is. He or She is not just a celebrity, or someone who plays records, or makes funny sounds with turntables. He or she is all of that and more. I recruited some of the most legendary and also most talented up and coming artists to help me express all of this within the context of the music.
The title of the album is by no means a way of saying I'm the best on the turntables. "King of the Decks" is obviously just a play on words related to a deck of cards. However, it is also a statement that needs to be remembered. The DJ is King."
Tracklisting and credits for DJ Revolution’s King Of The Decks (all songs produced DJ Revolution except where noted):
1.) Intro f/Jazzy Jeff
2.) King Of The Decks f/ Sean Price & Tash
3.) THE DJ f/ KRS ONE

Management Statement on behalf of Double O of Kidz in the Hall
"Double 0 of Kidz In The Hall badly assaulted by security after performance; Management issues statement"
Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge's attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.
In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall has traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers.

Three-1-Zero Presents '99 Lakers LP
I feel like right now my career is like the 1999 Los Angeles Lakers. That season for the Lakers was insane. First of all the season was cut in half due to the NBA strike so the support of basketball was at an all time low. (Kind of how the music industry is now). We had two different coaches that didn't know what the fuck they were doing. We had crazy ass Denis Rodman and this was also the year that Kobe and Shaq first started to "feud". Most importantly it was their last season @ The Forum in Inglewood, California (my home town). The next season they packed up moved out the Forum, got a new coach, upgraded their uniforms, made a few changes and revived the Laker dynasty (My goal is to revive hip hop but more specifically the west coast). I have elements that are proven to be good like Kobe and Shaq and Glen Rice. But I also have certain elements holding me back like Corie Blount (random bench player from that team that sucked), Elden Campbell and Travis Knight, not having the right coach (management) and basically the pressure of trying to prove that this team is a championship winning team.
So I'm putting together a CD titled "99 Lakers LP". And basically it's a big ass metaphor that compares hip hop to basketball. Each song's titled after a Laker player from that year as well as other Laker related things. Each song represents that player's personality but at the same time has a reference to hip hop for example "Dennis Rodman" is a track with me spitting rebellious flows over a crazy ass rock and roll electric guitar and just crazy chaos on a track. I have a song called "Sean Rooks" remember him? lol, well the song isn't about him, it's a track dedicated all the "rookie rappers" out there, and how they need to learn how to grind to get that starting spot, instead of coming in the game thinking that they already have it made. The song titled "Jeanine Buss" is a track about gold digging women. I got a track called "Wilt Chamberlain" that's about sex and I think I set the record for the most basketball/sex double entendres in one song. It all makes sense haha. So this project is basically my 1999 season I'm going to get work all the bugs and come back strong new and improved for the next 3 years…I don't know what I'm a do after that though lol. I'm sure you get the concept now.
