Unofficially, RA is a political rapper, a boom-bap revivalist, an enlightened Bahá’í faithful, and a mobile phone rebel, but RA the anti-stereotype has a place, too. “People have a natural tendency to put you in a category so they can understand what you’re all about. They’ll slap a label on you and that’s riveted on, it’s not easy to take off. Since then I’ve realized everything Common Market does and says is gonna be highly scrutinized. So yeah, we’re dirt-footed hippie rappers that burn incense at shows, which isn’t true by the way, but it is what it is.
