CNN has a story on Pedro Zapeta who was a dishwasher for 11 years. On his way back home to Guatemala, his money was seized because of a costly mistake of not declaring that he was transporting more than 10k to customs. Click here for the full house. After customs officials seized the money, they turned Zapeta over to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. The INS released him but began deportation proceedings. For two years, Zapeta has had two attorneys working pro bono: one on his immigration case, the other trying to get his money back.

I've been wonderin when the news of the newest Sidekick was gonna drop. Looks like come this fall T-Mobile will be launching two versions of the Sidekick made by two different manufacturers. The top image is coined the Sidekick LX made by Sharp and Motorola is gettin a piece of the pie with their version called the Sidekick Slide. The LX comes in a midnight blue or espresso "Zune" brown color and the Slide comes in black with purple accents. Can't wait for the brown images to surface of the LX. Jay-Z is to produce a soundscape inspired by the upcoming release of the American Gangster film coming out on November 2nd. The New York Times link is at the end.

Mr. Scott said he cast the rappers T. I., RZA and Common in supporting roles, hoping to appeal to a younger audience. But Brian Grazer, the film’s producer, said that Mr. Washington also pressed him more than a year ago to consider asking Jay-Z to do the film’s soundtrack.

“I just didn’t think there’d be enough for Jay-Z to do,” Mr. GrazerMr. Scott felt the movie required an authentic 1970s feel. said, explaining that he resisted because he and

Instead Jay-Z offered to make his own album and release it in conjunction with the movie; Def Jam is also releasing the film’s official soundtrack, which features songs by Bobby Womack, the Staple Singers and Sam & Dave. Jay-Z plans to attend the film’s premiere but any cross-promotion deals have not been completed, executives said. The movie’s trailer already includes an older Jay-Z song, “Heart of the City."
