REV RUN: Words of Wisdom - July 31st, 2007

The law of attraction
Good morning. If you want to help the poor, you must NOT make a study of poverty. Things are not brought into being by thinking about their opposites. Health is never obtained by studying disease and thinking about disease; righteousness is not promoted by studying sin and thinking about sin. Do not talk about poverty; do not investigate it, or concern yourself with it. Never mind what its causes are; you have nothing to do with them! Do not read anything which fills your mind with gloomy images of want and suffering. You CAN NOT help the poor or anyone in the least by knowing about these things. The scripture clearly says "Guard your heart (thoughts) with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life".
God is Love

Send this cr** to Oprah. She helped unleash “The Secret” on the world and this must be coming from there, or someplace similar.

This is the most self-centered, selfish and ridiculous thing I have ever read. Is this statement a “poor” attempt at justification for not donating any money to charitable causes on his part?

What would make someone, especially someone who calls themself a “reverend” do such a thing?

I guess a preacher who wears a very expensive mink coat to church, and buys his 10 year old son a $4,000.00 suit to wear to church since the boy “can’t get dressed on time.” What message is this, coming from a self-professed “preacher?” Materialistic hypocrisy.

This is ridiculous. My mother has had to wear a brace and a cane almost all her life, and is now confined to a wheelchair because the polio vaccine was invented, after much studying of disease, two years after it struck her down. Are you saying that dentists, surgeons, researchers and doctors should go out of business and no one should "study disease" to develop vaccines? Even organic practitioners have to study disease to know how to treat it.

If you had ever lived or visited a country where no medicines or doctors were available, you would very quickly see the difference. Where are you getting your information? What is going on here?

Sincerely, Catherine Todd
